Exceptional Service. Culinary Excellence. Our dining experience at JOON was extraordinary, made even better by the exceptional service from our server, Yacine. His thoughtful recommendations, warm demeanor, and perfectly timed attentiveness made for an unforgettable evening. Even as the restaurant got busier, Yacine maintained his focus on us-- a warm and welcoming touch that elevated the entire experience. Thank you! As fans of Persian cuisine and frequent shoppers at Yekta Market in Rockville-- having recently tried our hand at making Persian dishes like Fesenjan at home-- coupled with all of the culinary accolades-- we had high expectations for JOON. It not only met but exceeded them. Mast-o Musir, yogurt dish with Persian dried shallot and rose petal, was exceptional-- more elevated and nuanced than any we've had. The mushroom Khoresht stew with white truffle was another highlight, offering perfectly balanced flavors something hard to do with white truffles and a satisfying richness, complemented by the perfectly crunchy Tahdig, iconic golden rice crust. The braised lamb shoulder which Yacine suggested was the undeniable highlight of the meal I which each dish was excellent. Tender and flavorful, it was paired beautifully with texture. It's a signature dish that rivals the best we've ever had, bringing to mind the legendary Bo Ssam pork shoulder from David Chang's Momofuku-- bold, unforgettable, and expertly prepared. The Gormeh Sabzi, short rib stew with its delicious sour depth, was excellent but couldn't quite match the lamb's showstopping brilliance. Two very minor points. While the food and service are exceptional, the main dining room lighting would benefit from dimming. A water filtration water system could make a big difference as well. JOON has firmly secured its place as a must-visit dining destination for us. We can't wait to return and explore more of the menu.

We went for a family dinner in honor my daughter's 22nd b'day. It was a fun dinner with excellent food, ambience and service. Our server did a great job giving us menu recommendations. We tried a number of mezeh and platters... all were very good.

Upscale ambiance and delicious food with generous portions. We visited for dinner and were not disappointed. Our server recommended the seasonal vegetable hummus and it was the best choice we've made. I could eat it every time I revisit. But it is a seasonal menu and will be leaving soon. The complementary pita cheese/butter platter is a genius idea. The dishes' aesthetics, in my opinion, enhance the experience.

Joon was recently included in the NYTimes Top 50 Favorite Restaurants in the US, and it is well deserved. We had the opportunity to visit on a Tuesday when they have 3-course pre-fixe dinners, and it was perfect for our group of 4. Pretty reasonable for $50 especially given how much food you get. The portions are generous. The restaurant is gorgeous. Cocktails are divine. The service was next level. Would highly recommend for a date night or a night out with friends!

Fantastic dinner at Joon this week! This was our 1st visit, and will NOT be out last! Came with another couple for dinner. First, the decor is elegant and tasteful. Service, from the start, was exceptional, and food perfect. Once we finished the ample appetizers we found ourselves needing only two meals and the highly recommended cherry rice. Wow... The lamb "velosh?" was off the hook! Another big surprise was the cherry rice... Another wow! In addition to the meals we ended up ordering two bottles of wine, both tempranillos. Reasonably priced and absolutely delicious! The girls ended up ordering the dessert, so I'm honestly not sure what it's called, but it's a traditional Persian dessert with marzipan. Absolutely perfect way to end the evening! I can't recommend this place high enough. I came in not expecting much - something more like an upscale Moby Dick's or Shamcherey (sp?). No, this was nothing like either of those restaurants. This was upscale and elegant! Bravo to Joon!

If you like rice, this is your place! All the entrees come with a ginormous bowl of scorched rice dish (tahdig) The mazzeh (appetizers) were our favorite! - tuna tartare (the zatar lavash/crispy thin pita) - hummus with black garlic - lamb meatballs Parking is a little tricky. There isn't much available retail parking but Joon provides free valet parking.

Joon made the New York Times 50 favorite list. It's a fancy Persian restaurant next door to Tiffany's at Tysons. Being next to Tiffany's has plus and minuses: plus is you can shop at Tiffany's before dinner; minus is it may be an expensive outing. All kidding aside, Joon is reasonably priced for the quality of food. We ordered the following dishes: Beet Borani: a wonderful sweet dip Maygu-c Sokhari: fried pawns over slightly spicy sauce. Appeared to have come with calamari even though not mentioned. Recommend if you like little spicy Joon Kabob Platter: platter of chicken kabob, filet mignon kabob and ground beef kabob served with rice and pickled vegetables. We added sour cherries for slight charge. Chicken was great and the beef kabob were tender though not sure how it was cooked as did not see any grill marks. Sauce Tray: four sauces as we like spicy food. Also ordered one of their desserts with their tea served on platter. Overall, enjoyed the food and will definitely be back to try other items on menu.
